Esophageal Atresia Type B

Esophageal Atresia with proximal TEF (tracheoesophageal fistula).

Type B Esophageal Atresia is characterized by the upper esophageal pouch connecting abnormally to the trachea.

This abnormal connection is called a fistula.

The lower esophageal pouch ends blindly.
